The directory synchronization tool Microsoft SyncToy is available on every workstation. You can use this tool to keep your local data stored on the D: drive of your PF lab workstation with a directory within your server home directory (H:).

• Start SyncToy from the Start Menu
• Choose Create new Folder Pair
• In the freshly appeared Dialog Box enter the path on the D: drive you want to backup into the field Left Folder and the target directory within your server home directory (H:) or the server project directory (P:) in the field Right Folder. Then click Next >
• On the new dialog choose the desired copy type (read the description for each type carefully) that reflects your need. Then click again Next >
• Give your folder pair a name like 'My D: drive backup'. Then click Finish >

Now you have two options available Preview and Run. When clicking Preview you only receive a list what would happen when a the folder pair gets actually synced but no action will be processed. This option is a good choice to get an overview about the next Run. Finally click Run to copy the differences between the two directories depending the copy type you've chosen earlier for this folder pair.

Start sync toy every time you want to process a backup and choose Run for your folder pair.
