Mobile printing

In the past we have received several requests regarding mobile printing. As there is no vendor or platform independent printing solution, we came up with the following two possibilities:

http://printer.phys.ethz.ch/mobile provides a web form to upload a PDF document and send it to one of our printers. This should work with all browsers, except Mobile Safari, as iOS does not support any file uploads.

From your physics email account you can send a message to mobprint+QUEUENAME@printer.phys.ethz.ch to print the email text and all PDF attachments on any given printer. The list of printer queuenames can be found on http://printer.phys.ethz.ch or simply click on the corresponding email link on our printer location page. Feel free to add the most-used printer addresses to your email contacts for easy retrieval.
The following boundary conditions apply:

• The print job must be sent from a @phys.ethz.ch email account
• if you just send a simple mail with one or more PDF attachments, only those attachments will be printed
• if you forward an email, all plaintext and PDF attachments will be printed
• if you send an email without attachments, the mail text will be printed
